Daniel Pipes is director of the Middle East Forum, a non-profit organization he founded in 1994.
A graduate of Harvard University, with a BA and PhD in history, he has been recognized as one of Harvard’s 100 most influential living graduates. He taught at Harvard, Princeton, Chicago, the U.S. Naval War College and Pepperdine.
He has held two presidential positions in the U.S. government, testified before many congressional committees and worked for five presidential campaigns.
He is a prize-winning columnist, formerly for the New York Times Syndicate, now writing independently for many newspapers and is the author of 12 books. His works have been translated into 33 languages.
His website is one of the most accessed internet sources of specialized information on the Middle East and Islam. The Wall Street Journal calls Daniel Pipes "an authoritative commentator on the Middle East." CBS Sunday Morning says he was "years ahead of the curve in identifying the threat of radical Islam."
Mr. Pipes discusses current issues on leading television networks and programs around the globe, including the BBC, Al-Jazeera, ABC (USA), Good Morning America, News-Hour with Jim Lehrer, Nightline, and The Today Show. He has appeared and has lectured in twenty-five countries.
