Radio Interview with IDF spokesman: Captain Benjamin Rutland
Captain Benjamin Rutland was interviewed by Trish Duke on Twin Cities FM at 5pm Thursday 17th March.
Israel Defence Forces Spokesperson, Australian-born Captain Benjamin Rutland, is a highly articulate and very well informed speaker on current Israel-related issues. He represents Israel on the world stage, through his appearances on all major global media networks, such as CNN, BBC, SBS and others.

From 1993-2005 he was active in the Australian Union of Jewish Students (AUJS) including as National President in 1995, and in 1999-2001 he was Chairperson of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS). From 2001 to 2006 Captain Rutland was Chief Executive Officer of technology company: TeleConsult Pty Ltd (Australia).
From 2006 Captain Rutland has served in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) in the Spokespersons Unit responsible for International Media and Organizations, then as Head of the European and Pacific Desk, and currently as Head of the NATO Desk in the IDF Strategic Division.
Captain Rutland has a Combined Bachelor of Science and Laws, and a Combined Bachelor of Arts and Laws (majoring in Political Science, International Relations, and International Law) from the University of New South Wales. He has also studied at Hebrew University, and is currently completing an Executive Masters in Contemporary Middle East Studies, Tel Aviv University. he is married, and lives with his young family in Israel.
